Haleek Maul

23yo MC, singer and producer Haleek Maul first surfaced aged just 16 with the critically acclaimed ‘Oxyconteen’, which showcased a rare talent, wise beyond his years.

Born in Brooklyn, NYC, he moved to Barbados as a child to attend school. Inspired by the sounds that filled his environment, he began creating music while in secondary school.

In 2015 he collaborated with Ryan Hemsworth, Supreme Cuts and Le1f and dropped the ‘Prince Midas’ mixtape, feat Saul Williams and produced by Dubbel Dutch, WIFE, Last Japan, Black Noi$e, Cubby and Maul himself.

Once signed to Lex he released the ‘In Permanence’ EP, feat Saul Williams and Embaci, and produced by GILA, D Tiberio & Dasychira.

2019 single ‘Ceiling Fan’ (Prod. Morris), found him opening a new musical chapter. Channeling his multi-cultural background he alternates between technical raps and fleeting moments of Caribbean vocal rhythms. This was followed by the haunting ‘Halo’ featuring Mick Jenkins, ‘Abyss’ featuring like minded NY maverick Ro Ransom, and the reflective ‘Lucid’ featuring Toronto’s Sean Leon.

Haleek released his 12-tracker debut album entitled 'Errol' in February 2020. A navigation through loss, energy and anger, the record meanders through frenzied trap, electronica inspired sonics and mercurial experimentation, delivering a clear new phase for the artist.

"Equal parts Vybz Kartel, Aphex Twin and Kendrick Lamar. Essential"
9/10 DJ Mag

"[Errol] plays like the sonic journal of a promising new talent, still establishing exactly what it is he wants to say. Until then, his experimentation is more than beguiling enough"
★★★★ The Guardian

"Errol makes the listener work for its pleasures, but they're worth it"
★★★★ Q Magazine

"We’ve seen Haleek Maul mature into a man and develop as an artist right before our eyes.”
